This involves removing all the mounting bolts (2 per side and 2 at the rear), fuel connection, electrical harness, throttle, shift, trim and merhode wires, power steering lines, exhaust droppers and rubbers, water inlet to sea pump, positive supply to starter, ground wires on belhousing and leg overflow lines on both engines.
OK after 3 years of sporadic overheating at high RPMs and countless hours of trying to figure out why. I discovered my plastic threaded inserts has broken away at the transom wall. Allowing air to get into the system when on plane at higher RPMs. I have a thur hull water pick up and really don’t want to replace my water hose.

I removed the old water hose at the transom assely but how the heck do you access the Water Inlet housing behind the engine and transom to get the new hose insert screwed in? It is virtually impossible to reach your hand back there and I have yet to find a tool that will fit to unscrew the two screws on the water inlet housing.

I have a 2003 monterey with the 350 mag / bravo 3 coo and I have a drive oil leak. it appears to be leaking from the transom area. it is very difficult to reach in and tell exactly what might be the problem but I can see that the hose that connects to the transom from the reserve container appears to be tightly clamped but there is other movement i can see.

The Raw Water pump should be rebuilt every season. The Bravo Water Pump is belt driven. It has two hoses attached to the rear housing. One hose is the water intake hose and the other feeds to the engine. The advantage to having the water pump mounted to the engine is that the boat does not have to be hauled to service the pump.

Jul 12, 2011· Re: 6.2L Bravo 3 Water Flow Problem You can disconnect the hose from the transom plate which runs from the waterpump on the engine inside the boat. Stick your garden hose into the transom plate connection to backflush the passages through the drive. Also you can shove the garden hose into the hose going to the pump and run it that way to check.
